Our field team recently crossed 1,200 days without a lost-time incident. We’re proud of the number, but the number isn’t the point — the habits behind it are.

A streak like this is really 1,200 consecutive mornings of somebody asking the same unglamorous questions. What changed on site overnight? Who’s working near the trench today? Where’s our hydro-vac before anybody digs near a live line? The huddle takes eight minutes. It has saved more than time.

Two things make it stick. First, cross-training: when operators understand pipe work and pipe crews understand equipment, everyone sees hazards from more than one angle. Second, honesty without penalty: near-misses get reported here because reporting them is treated as a contribution, not a confession.

Streaks end someday; habits don’t have to. If yours is the kind of crew that takes this stuff seriously, we’re always looking for people.
